APA Custom Shop in Queen Creek, Arizona is growing, and we're looking for an experienced Performance Automotive Technician to join our team.
This is not an entry-level position, and it's not a traditional general-repair tech job. We're looking for someone who already has strong mechanical ability and wants to specialize in the performance side of the industry. Our shop works extensively with GM LS/LT, Ford Coyote/EcoBoost, and Mopar HEMI platforms, from bolt-on upgrades to extensive performance builds.
The type of work you'll see
- Camshaft and valvetrain upgrades
- Supercharger and forced-induction installations
- Long-tube headers and performance exhaust
- Fuel system upgrades
- Suspension and drivetrain modifications
- Engine and performance diagnostics
- High-horsepower street builds
- Supporting work for custom tuning and dyno calibration
Performance work takes a different level of attention to detail. Clean installations, proper torque procedures, organization, diagnostics, and doing the job correctly matter here. We want a technician who takes pride in opening the hood when the job is finished.
What we're looking for
Professional automotive experience is required, and 5+ years is preferred. Previous performance experience is a major advantage, but we're also interested in highly skilled technicians from the general-repair or dealership world who have the mechanical ability and genuine passion to move into performance work.
- Comfortable with major mechanical work
- Strong diagnostic skills
- Own professional tools
- Able to work independently while still being part of a team
Why APA Custom Shop
You'll work in a clean, modern performance shop with current equipment, building vehicles for customers who are genuinely excited about their cars. We offer competitive pay, room to advance, and the chance to build a career in the performance industry instead of turning the same repair jobs every day. Most importantly, you'll work alongside people who actually enjoy horsepower and performance.
If you spend your free time researching builds, modifying your own vehicles, going to the track, or figuring out how to make something faster, you may be exactly who we're looking for.
