Stop throwing parts at it. Isolate the root cause.

The misfire the dealer won't touch. The drivability quirk no one can pin down. We resolve the complex faults other shops can't, with mechanical forensics and live telemetry, not guesswork.

3 Pillars of Performance Forensics

We don't read codes. We hunt causes.

A trouble code points at a system, not a culprit. Here are the three layers we work through to find the real fault.

01 · Mechanical

Is the engine actually healthy?

Before we chase a tune or a sensor, we prove the mechanicals. Cranking compression and cylinder leak-down quantify ring and valve seal; a digital borescope lets us see scoring, detonation damage, or a dropped seat without pulling the head. On LS, LT, Coyote, and Hemi engines, cylinder-to-cylinder variance is often the real story a code never tells.

  • Cranking compression, cylinder by cylinder
  • Leak-down % to isolate rings vs. valves vs. head gasket
  • Digital borescope inspection of bore & piston
  • Cylinder-variance analysis across the engine
The Telemetry Stream

The fault is in the data

A healthy engine logs clean and stable. A failing one spikes. We read the difference in real time under load, and that's where the answer lives.

Modified builds break the flowchart

Factory diagnostics assume a stock car. Yours isn't, and that's exactly where we start.

Flowchart mechanics

Factory diagnostic trees assume a stock car. Drop in a cam, a standalone ECU, or a supercharger and the flowchart breaks, so they clear the code, swap a part, and hand it back still broken (if they'll touch it at all).

Diagnostic-to-Solution Protocol

From symptom to fix

  1. 01

    Deep-Dive Forensic Testing

We run the full workup relevant to your symptom (mechanical, pressure, and live-telemetry) and log the car under the exact conditions where the fault actually shows up.

  2. 02

    Transparent Blueprint Report

You get the data, not a shrug. We show you the exact failure point (the leak, the dead cylinder, the trim drift), so the fix is obvious and the price makes sense.

  3. 03

    Precision Engineering Fix

We repair or recalibrate the actual root cause and re-verify under load, so the problem is gone for good, not just the light reset until next Tuesday.

Diagnostic questions, answered

What does a diagnostic fee actually cover?

It covers the time and equipment to isolate the root cause (mechanical testing, smoke testing, and live data-logging as your symptom requires), plus a clear report of what we found. It is not a parts-cannon; you are paying for the answer, and it is the cheapest money you will spend versus guessing with parts.

Do you diagnose cars modified by other shops?

Yes. That is a lot of what we do. A build another shop couldn't sort, a tune that isn't right, a mystery misfire after a cam install: bring it in. We diagnose the combination in front of us, not who touched it last.

What if the issue only happens occasionally under specific conditions?

Intermittent faults are exactly why we data-log. We capture freeze-frame and history data and log the car under the conditions that trigger it: heat, load, boost, a specific RPM, so we catch the event itself instead of chasing a light that is currently off.

Can you tell a bad tune from a mechanical failure?

Yes, and that distinction is our specialty. Live telemetry shows whether fueling and timing are being commanded wrong (calibration) or whether the engine physically can't respond (mechanical). We separate the two with hard data before recommending a fix.
